My name is Derek Palmer. I am an Animator/Illustrator among other things near the Boston area. I recently graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and Design with a BFA in Animation. I like to explore a multitude of art forms pushing my creativity to the max while being as open minded as possible. One focus is stop motion animation where I enjoy the entire process from the initial story idea to writing, storyboarding, character and set design. I love making and adding my own music to projects and constantly showcasing new mediums to show versatility. Some of my other talents include illustration, photography, lighting and editing.

    I truly enjoy spending time with my family and some of my other interests are sports, coaching, electronics and technology. I have many influences; a few would be the works of Ray Harryhausen, Pixar, Laika, Todd McFarland, Joe Madureira and Tim Burton.  I am inspired by all aspects of art and try to learn as much as possible. I have been influenced by art my entire life and have been drawing ever since I could pick up a pencil (I’ve been told). I really look forward to working in the Art industry and in the realm of Stop Motion Animation along side of other great artists.
